Terms of Use
Last updated: 1 October 2026
These terms govern access to Emergency.ug, a public-interest emergency-assistance service operated by Oree Studio Africa. By using it, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
Purpose of the service
Emergency.ug uses location information to help identify nearby Police, Medical and Local Council support. SOS can prepare and record an alert containing your location and relevant support details for saved contacts and available nearby Police entries.
Emergency limitations
Emergency.ug is an assistance tool, not an emergency dispatch centre and not a replacement for calling an official emergency service. Delivery may fail or be delayed because of device permissions, inaccurate GPS, unavailable recipient details, network interruption or third-party service failure.
Directory information
Nearby results depend on the location reported by your device and information available in the directory. Coverage is being built and verified. Names, distances, availability and contact details may be incomplete, outdated or inaccurate, so confirm critical information when circumstances allow.
Acceptable use
Use the service only for lawful personal-safety and emergency purposes. Do not submit false alerts, impersonate another person, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorised access, misuse contact information, harass, threaten or mislead anyone.
Your responsibilities
Keep your profile and emergency contacts accurate, protect access to your device, grant only the permissions you intend to grant, and check alert details when circumstances allow. Mobile network, SMS or data charges may apply.
Availability and changes
We may improve, restrict, suspend or discontinue any part of the service for safety, maintenance, legal or operational reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or verified nearby-support data in every area of Uganda.
Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oree Studio Africa does not guarantee alert delivery, directory accuracy, a response from a listed service or a particular emergency outcome.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. Questions may be sent to info@emergency.ug. We may update these terms as the service or applicable law changes.
